Camberwell Place Retail Alley
As part of their plans to reinvigorate Camberwell Place, an underperforming shopping centre in Camberwell, ISPT purchased a retail property adjoining the entry lane that connected to Burke Road.
CTA were invited to activate this entry lane, through the creation of a double storey base build structure to house 5 no. retail / F&B tenancies with a first floor terrace.
By creating an urban scaled intervention that unified the retail tenancy and the adjacent lane, the Burke Road entry provides a significantly enhanced sense of identity and connection to the rebranded shopping centre.
By focusing on the creation of an interplay of urban scaled and intimate spaces, the activation of the entry was given an uplift that was aligned with the atmosphere of successful urban lanes.
